Each playwright who fulfilled the requirements of completing 31 plays in 31 days, was invited to submit one play of any length for consideration.
With the promise of fame and fortune, I submitted a play dealing with "death with dignity." It's a hoot! Okay, not really, but it's something near and dear to me.
Recently, I read an article about a woman with terminal ovarian cancer who made the decision to not do chemotherapy. "The cure is worse than the disease." Of course she said this after it was clear she was terminal and the decision to have some quality of life over a longer, dragged-out battle with cancer was brave and inspiring.
Anyway. Still Life with Fruit and Lemons made it into the anthology and reading. Yay! What excites me most about this, other than being published, etc., is that through this wonderful new way of bringing theater to the masses, my family, some two thousand miles away, will be able to see some of my work. As will you. I hope.
Details and dates for the airing will be announced soon by the good folks at 31 Plays. I'll be sure to keep you posted.
